Mr. Bertrand,
I have purchased your book and found the information to be spot on. I hit my hybrids and driver great, but have some issues with my shorter irons. Everything goes left for some reason. Any idea why I might be pulling ‘em? It seems like there’s more time to get everything in place w the longer clubs. Any advice would be welcome!
wouldn’t it have been better said that it is the knees that shift and rotate first causing a chain reaction with the hips as you describe.When you just move the hips without leg/knee initiating you get an over the top swing as you leave the inside slot.I agree just what needs to also be talked about are the knees.

You need to have a feeling that the left hip is turning out of the way as the right hip is part of the powerful right side exploding through the hitting area.
keep the lateral motion to a minimum

-.- as he begins the swing the end of the bat has the most speed and energy going foward. Mid way he cuts back his arms moving the bottom base of the bat in the opposite direction. The energy the end of the bat already is used for the spin it spins until he puts his hands back on it
